Former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez was arrested Wednesday in Ahwatukee, Arizona on counts of alleged assault and resisting arrest.<BR><BR>
According to Phoenix Fox affiliate KSAZ, Rodriguez was detained after assaulting a Taxi driver. Rodriguez has been accused of throwing the cab driver to the ground following a dispute over a $75 taxi fare. He was also cited for resisting arrest, as three police officers were required to detain the 6?4? Rodriguez.<BR><BR>

There?s been no update as to legal penalties Rodriguez will face, though assault and resisting arrest could potentially land the former UFC heavyweight champion behind bars indefinitely.<BR><BR>
Rodriguez is currently riding an eleven fight win streak, including victories over James McSweeney and Travis Fulton.<BR><BR>
