First-fight jitters behind, Strikeforce's Ryan Couture comfortable with current progression

Strikeforce lightweight prospect Ryan Couture knows a thing or two about living up to expectations.

The son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, Ryan carried the weight of his family's name through a seven-fight amateur career and into his August debut under the Strikeforce banner.

Now Couture takes another step forward with a main-card bout against Lee Higgins at this weekend's Showtime-broadcast Strikeforce Challengers 14 event in Cedar Park, Texas. Despite the added attention that comes with his family lineage, Couture said things are progressing as planned.
