While this is a long shot to say the least, it?s well worth noting. We may get a chance to see UFC hall-of-famer, and MMA pioneer Royce Gracie fight once again for the UFC. This time around, it may well be in front of his home crowd in Brazil.

The UFC will be headed to Rio de Janeiro in August to host their first event on Brazilian soil in 13 years. There were plenty of Brazilian born superstars at a recent press conference held to announce the event, including Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo, Mauricio Rua, and of course, Royce Gracie.

Following the conference Royce Gracie took some time to conduct an interview with Tatame, in which he?s asked the question many are juggling themselves: Will he compete at the planned event?

A man of few words, Royce responded with a simple, ?We?re negotiating it.?

While it?s no form of official announcement, it is clear that Dana White and Joe Silva would like to see the legendary Gracie in action at the event. Gracie is a massive draw in Brazil, and an in-cage appearance from the former champion makes financial sense; it?s also something many diehard fans have been waiting to see for years.
