UFC 124 weigh-in: GSP talks tough and Alves makes weight

A tough talking Georges St. Pierre, a smirking Josh Koscheck, a svelte Thiago Alves, a skeleton-like Dustin Hazelett and three guys with mop tops all highlighted the festivities in Montreal at the UFC 124 weigh-in

GSP was fired up as he ran onto the platform at the Bell Centre.  The UFC welterweight champ has been waiting for months to finally get his hands on Koscheck, who busted his chops at every turn during the taping of Season 12 of "The Ultimate Fighter."

St. Pierre doesn't talk much trash, but he was in the mood on Friday afternoon.

"Tomorrow, I guarantee you the bully will get bullied. I'm motivated, but I'm going to fight smart," St. Pierre told UFC color analyst Joe Rogan. "He tried to put me off track. That's what he wanted. I'm not going to do it. I'm gonna kick his ass tomorrow. I look for the knockout."

The pro-GSP crowd was in full approval. A few minutes earlier, before Koscheck hit the scale, the UFC wisely fanned the flames with the crowd by playing a clip from TUF 12. It's was a short highlight of Koscheck saying he didn't want to lose to GSP, especially because he was a French guy.

"Thanks for the great welcome," Koscheck said with a big smile on his face (4:07 mark). I plan on putting on a helluva show tomorrow night. The talk is over. Georges know he's gotta represent all you guys out here booing."

The booing got louder as the Canadians on hand treated Koscheck, like he was a defenseman for the Boston Bruins.

"I'll see you tomorrow night when I put Georges St. Pierre to sleep," said Koscheck.

Thiago Alves, joined by his nutritionist, Mike Dolce, looked great on the scale. The bulky welterweight had missed weight in two of his previous four fights. At 171 pounds, Alves didn't look gaunt, or worn in the face.

With their shaggy hair, Mac Danzig and Matt Riddle looked like Beatles wannabes from the 60's. Coincidentally, the clown prince of the Internet, Sean McCorkle, was wearing a wig that looked similar to the haircuts of Danzig and Riddle.

McCorkle has done a nice job of transforming his 6-foot-7 body. He was under the heavyweight limit at 264. Keep in mind, he used to fight at well over 300 pounds. That said, he was no Hazelett. At 6-foot-1, the former welterweight looked incredibly skinny down at 155.

Gracie, Davis Expected for Inaugural Bellator 205-Pound Tournament

With their new TV deal in place, Bellator has turned its attention to Season 4, which according to CEO Bjorn Rebney, will kick off in March 2011.

On Monday's episode of The MMA Hour, Rebney announced that the organization will feature a light heavyweight, welterweight, lightweight and featherweight tournament in their upcoming season.

This will mark the first time the organization holds a 205-pound division tournament, and while no names have officially been announced for it, Rebney hinted that Daniel Gracie and Raphael Davis will be a part of the eight-man field.
