Paulo Thiago Out Of UFC On Versus 3 Bout w/ Injury
An injury has forced Brazilian UFC Welterweight Paulo Thiago out of a scheduled bout against Johny Hendricks according to a post on Twitter from the <a href=http://twitter.com/#!/teamtakedown>Hendricks Camp</a>.<br><Br>
An elbow injury that required surgery was the reason for Thiago's decision to pull out of the bout.<br><br>
The fight was scheduled to take place on the next UFC On Versus Live card which is set for Louisville, Kentucky on March 3rd.<br><br>
No replacement opponent has been named for Hendricks at this point.<br><br>

Featherweight Chad Mendes was "stoked" when he was offered Japanese star Michihiro Omigawa for his UFC debut this Saturday at UFC 126 in Las Vegas."I think for me it's a perfect matchup," Mendes said Monday on The MMA Hour. "Omigawa is the type of guy that likes to get his hands on you, he needs to bear hug to take you down to the mat."

Melvin Guillard has started 2011 looking the best he's ever looked.
Guillard destroyed Evan Dunham at the UFC Fight for the Troops 2 event at Fort Hood, winning in a first-round technical knockout in dominant fashion, with hard punches and brutal knees knocking Dunham to the canvas and forcing the referee to stop the fight at 2:58 of the first round. The last of the knees Guillard landed appeared to come after Dunham had already gone to the ground -- which would have made the knee illegal -- although Guillard already had Dunham all but finished before that.
"I'm very happy," Guillard said afterward, thanking the troops at Fort Hood who had turned out to watch the fight and noting that he comes from a military family.

"Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg" official weigh-in results: Dual title fights set
SAN JOSE, Calif. - MMAjunkie.com was on scene and reporting live from today's "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg" fighter weigh-ins, whcih took place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., and the evening's dual title fights are now official. Strikeforce champions Nick Diaz and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza each made weight without issue, as did challengers Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos and Robbie Lawler.
Today's festivities precede Saturday's Showtime-televised event, which features a championship doubleheader in the same San Jose venue.
